Welcome to the world baby Nova

Nova is here and we are all so in love with our new addition! We can't get enough snuggles and kisses and Grahm loves her tiny little features! I went into my last OB appointment and was only dilated to a two. I was so anxious for her to get here but when my doctor asked me if I wanted to be induced in the morning, I was suddenly freaking out thinking time needed to slow down because I wasn't ready! Tanner and I decided to go ahead with the induction the next morning but then I got a phone call from my OB telling me she wanted me to come in that night.

Tanner, Grahm and myself headed out for a last supper as a family of three. Afterwards, we dropped Grahm off at our friend's house and then headed to St. Vincent's hospital. We got checked in and I changed into my gorgeous hospital gown:) I got my IV put in and hooked up to the monitors. Things were happening and we were excited to get things started. They gave me some medicine to soften my cervix during the night and then I was started on pitosin in the morning. I was at a four when my doctor broke my water and I ordered an epidural immediately after because I knew the contractions were going to get pretty crazy. My doctor told me she was going to work at a clinic about 30 minutes away but she would be back at lunch to deliver ;)

It took a very long time before the anesthesiologist came in to give me my epidural. The contractions kept getting stronger and stronger. Poor Tanner wanted to help in any way he could and distract me from the pain but it was just best for him if he didn't talk to me, or come very close:) Finally, I was able to get my epidural. I was really nervous I wouldn't be able to sit still while the anesthesiologist worked. He was speedy fast and worked around my contractions. My nurse assured me that two or three more contractions and then the epidural would kick in. I was so excited to finally take a little break, maybe get in a little nap. After going through those last few contractions, I started to feel A LOT of pressure and said "Something's happening! I think something's wrong!" The nurse checked me and I was dilated to a ten. Nova was coming and she was coming fast! My doctor was hoping to make it back to deliver Nova, but Nova wasn't waiting for anyone! The on call doctor came in and after six or seven pushes, I was holding my sweet girl. Tanner was asked a few times if he wanted to deliver her, but he wanted to just be a husband. I wouldn't have minded but I was happy to have him by my side the whole time.

They put Nova on my chest and she had the sweetest, softest little cry. She was six pounds six ounces and 19 inches long. She was very alert and her neck was super strong! She came out with more hair than I expected. She has big beautiful eyes and sweet kissable lips.

Grahm came to meet Ms Nova that afternoon.and he was so sweet with her. He held her for the first time and swooned over her tiny fingers, little toes and her pretty eyes. He also said she needed a hair cut. After a few minutes of holding her, he said "I'm done. Can I go home?"

One month has gone by and I'm wondering where the time has gone. Nova is very alert! She is awake for long periods of time just looking around and hanging out. She LOVES to be held. She isn't a huge fan of the swing and when she lays down she likes to have her head turned to one side. She really enjoys being outside, and hates being in her car seat. We are so in love with her and i'm so excited to watch her grow and see her little personality come out.
