More than just a Photographer || Personal Post
Hey friends! I want to introduce myself a little bit more! If you've followed me for a while then maybe you'll learn something new. If you're new here, then welcome! I hope we can be great friends!
I like photography because not only do I capture memories, I get to meet new people and make lasting friends. I like to connect with people and find out what makes them the person they are. There is more to me than just a photographer. I have a couple other hats that I wear from time to time ;) I think it’s important to make connections with people so I’m here to tell you a little bit about me.
I grew up in Logan, Utah until I was 12. I’m the youngest of six kids. I moved around a little bit but eventually ended up in Cedar City, Utah. Initially, I wasn’t too excited about that. I have a sister that lives there, so I was familiar with how brown, dry, and kind of in the middle of nowhere it was. I guess it was meant to be though because I met my husband during my sophomore year of high school. I honestly didn’t have much interest but he was very persistent! We dated from our junior year up until we graduated. He served an LDS mission in Chile and I worked as a hair stylist. Two weeks after returning home he was asking my parents for their permission to marry me. Four months after that, we were married! We have been happily married for six years and have two little kids. Grahm is four and Nova is three months. We live in Green Bay, Wisconsin while Tanner finishes his last year of Med School! I stay at home with the littles and try to hold down the fort. I love being able to hang out with them every day. It’s not always easy, but there’s a lot of joy and fulfillment that comes with being a mom.
One thing about me is I can’t sit still for very long. Especially with a toddler. I like to find fun things to do. With Tanner in school, it can be a little tricky to find a time to hang out together. So when we get that time, we try our best to make the most of it. We love to try new things and take in the moment. If we could, we would spend our days on the beach! We love having no agenda and watching Grahm enjoy the sand. We love to be outside. Everything from taking walks and feeding the ducks, to camping, swimming, or a night on the town, you can count us in! We love to be with our big families and it’s really fun now that everyone is married and having babies! We are a Green Bay Packers family through and through and that’s not just because we live in Green Bay. Tanner grew up a Packers fan. Go figure!! He’s loved the green and gold team ever since Brett Farve and Tanner has converted me over to the Cheese Heads. It’s been a fair trade though because as part of marrying into the family, my mom asked him if he was willing to switch from a BYU fan to a Utah State fan. So, we’re even :)
Most days you’ll find me playing with bubbles, play dough and cars. Or in other words, keeping up with my kids. I enjoy traveling, watching cheesy chick flicks, and dance parties. My major food groups include Diet Coke, popcorn and chocolate chip cookies. I'm a hippie at heart and it's my ultimate dream to one day own a VolksWagen Van. I'm a firm believer in living life to the fullest, having no regrets, and doing whatever makes your heart happy.
I love being a photographer of couples and families! It’s seriously the best job! I love capturing the sweet intimate and memorable moments each person, couple, child and family can have. I like to freeze that moment so you can remember it forever. I love lifestyle photography so you can remember the real life moments 10 years down the road. I treasure the memories my family makes - especially as my kids are getting older. Sometimes its hard seeing them grow up, so I enjoy taking in the moment and capturing the way they sleep in their bed, play with their favorite toy, their first time at swim lessons, or even at school. Life is so beautiful and I love that I have the ability to help people cherish their memories for a lifetime.
